Advisory Board - John Leighton 

John Leighton is a board-certified trial lawyer.  Serving as President of The National Crime Victim Bar Association, he is sole author of the 2-volume textbook, Litigating Premises Security Cases, and has published several book chapters and peer-reviewed articles. He is Chairman of the Inadequate Security Litigation Group for the American Association for Justice, and often teaches trial and deposition skills nationally.

Mr. Leighton has won some of the Florida’s largest verdicts and settlements in major personal injury and wrongful death cases, including a $24 million wrongful death verdict in a negligent security case which was one of the American Lawyer largest verdicts of 2011. He recently won a $49 million verdict in Miami for a sexual assault case, one of American Lawyer Media’s 2017’s largest verdicts in the United States.
